one thing that idk why but really anoys me is why do we need the Sontaron guy? are Vastra and Jenny not enough? why is he even there - i am confused. IS IT NESSECARY? like properly needed really really needed?

That’s also a really good point. He was there to be the ‘muscle man’, I suppose, which is silly since Vastra and Jenny have already proven themselves worthy in a fight and could easily take any criminal they encounter as shown in A Good Man Goes to War. How did he get to Victorian London? Why was he crime fighting with Vastra and Jenny when they obviously don’t need the help?

Until it’s explained, we’ll just have to blame sexism, I suppose.

Yes, we’re completely aware that Chris Chibnall wrote Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.

However, Moffat is still head writer and executive producer and he gets to put his input into every episode and finalise them.

Q:Just wondering, but are you sure it's not Caro Skinner giving the final, final approval of the scripts as another (and I think top, if I'm not mistaken - correct me if I am) executive producer?

Steven Moffat is still the main executive producer at this moment and I think that his title as showrunner/head writer gives a lot more say in what happens in the script. I’m not entirely sure, so don’t quote me on this.

The executive producer does a lot more than work with the scripts, such as the financial and promotional work, so perhaps they divide the work between both of them? I think Caro Skinner may do the more executive work while Moffat works on the writing and storyline aspect, but again, I’m not positive.

Cleaning Out the Inbox - Part 5

We still have a lot of messages to get through, but we’re opening the ask box again after this, in time for the newest episode tonight. Again, all we ask is for you to be patient with us! We still have nearly 200 messages to get through and since tumblr decided to mash all our inboxes together, it’s going to be tougher to get through them all.

We also want to nip something in the bud before the next episode starts: we know Moffat didn’t write the next several episodes. Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was written by Chris Chibnall, the same guy who wrote the Pond Life episodes. We DO like to point out, however, that Moffat is STILL the head writer and executive producer, meaning he assigns episodes to people, collaborates with them while writing, and approves the final script. While he may not be the sole writer of the episode, he gives the ultimate thumbs-up for it.

No, not a mistake. I wrote a piece about Martha because it was relevant at the time, but we’re still planning on talking about Rose, Donna, and everyone else eventually. We just haven’t brought her up yet, but we hope to do so in the future after we get the time and after this season starts to slow down a bit.

um, every word on your ridiculous post about amy and rory’s relationship is stupid and makes no sense. You apparently do not know these characters or their relationship at all. Rory didn’t say he waited 2000 years for her because he thinks he entitled or to use it against her. He was saying that he’s not sure if she would have done the same for him. Also because he’s always been insecure. Amy kicked him out and asked for a divorce. So it felt like she didn’t love him as much as he loved her.

I don’t know, Anon. I listened to that several times while transcribing that and it doesn’t sound anywhere near insecure to me. It sounds like, hmm… what does Amy say? Like he’s talking ‘about waiting outside a box’ as a means to show her that ~he loves her more~. Sounds like an attack and Amy sure as hell knows it for what it is. And uh… we still don’t know who initiated the divorce, so there goes that argument. Granted, it could’ve been Amy, but Rory seemed pretty spiteful as well. If you read my post, you would’ve recalled that I pointed out the scene in Pond Life 5 where Rory’s the one storming out of the house and Amy’s chasing after him.
