Um, I wasn’t jumping on her for having an opinion. However, since a large number of people in the Sherlock fandom look up to Louise Brealey as a feminist icon, it was disappointing to see her say something that was pretty blatantly sexist. If she thinks that Lucy Liu playing Watson is gimmicky, she’s allowed to think so. However, it’s important to examine the implications of what she is saying, especially when there are people who are influenced by her opinions.
